Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do I have to be enrolled in BOCES to attend?
NO. The program is open to all students entering 8th, 9th, or 10th grade, regardless of where they attend school. Students from public schools, private schools, and homeschool programs are all welcome to join.
2. Do I need to have any prior knowledge, skill, or experience going into the program?
No. As this an exploratory camp , you do not need prior knowledge, and or skill. This is an opportunity for students like you to explore.
3. What will I do in camp?
Each program has a description of the activities. If the description does not answer your question, drop us a line at swbctecamp@swboces.org
4. Are the activities the same each session?
No. Within each category the activities change from session to session.
5. What is the dress code?
Dress for safety. Each course has its own requirements. Culinary, Auto, Construction and Cosmetology must wear close toed shoes.
6. My child has a nut allergy can they participate in the culinary camp?
Our commercial kitchens are NOT nut-free. But the chefs have prepared a menu that is nut-free.
7. Do you provide breakfast or lunch?
No. Meals are on your own. Camp runs from 8:00am - 1:00pm please pack your own lunch and/or a snack.

9. What time does the camp run?
All camp sessions run from 8:00am - 1:00pm.
